Riding the Waves 🌊: Embracing the Ups and Downs of the Journey

We love the idea of progress. The feeling of forward momentum, the thrill of breakthroughs, the satisfaction of a “win.” But the truth that no one really talks about?
The journey to becoming who you want to become, whether it’s in your new career, relationships, or personal growth; It’s not a straight line.

It’s a winding path with high peaks and deep valleys.
And sometimes, those valleys feel like you’ve lost your way.

When Progress Feels Like a Step Back

Have you ever hit a low point in your growth and thought, “Maybe I’m not cut out for this”?
You’re not alone.

In those moments, doubt creeps in. You feel unworthy. Incompetent. Like the progress you made before was just luck or a joke, saying “Who are you kidding?”
But here’s the truth:
Every journey has dips. Every growth spurt is followed by a stretch of discomfort. Not just the discomfort of starting and growing, but the discomfort of lows.

Feeling low doesn’t mean you’re failing — it means you’re growing. You have something that your old self is feeling unworthy of, therefore shedding light on the new you that your old self, in it’s comfortable nature, is pushing back on. It’s gripping at keeping itself and it can do this by creating these doubts about your new self.

You’re Not Broken — You’re Becoming

That low moment? It isn’t the end.
It’s part of the process.
In fact, the moments that feel like setbacks often teach you the most:

  • How resilient you are.
  • How much you care.
  • What needs tending in your heart.
  • How much you’re growing.

Keep Going, But Gently

You don’t have to rush. You don’t have to pretend everything is fine. You just have to keep moving — even if it’s slow, even if it’s messy.
Progress isn’t perfection. Progress is presence.
It’s showing up for yourself again and again, even when you feel like hiding or running.

Let the bad days be part of the story — not the end of it. You’ll eventually laugh at them later. Shake your head and say, “I can’t believe how much I pushed back on myself, how silly”.

Keep it light in your journey. Don’t take it so seriously.

A Loving Reminder

You are not your bad day.
You are not your fear.
You are not the voice that tells you you’re not enough.

You are becoming, beautifully-with every breath, who you want to be, and this change is the pressure it takes to be a polished stone.
So when you find yourself in the dip, don’t give up. Give yourself grace. Allow yourself to go through it.
Then, when you’re ready, pick yourself back up… and take one more step forward. 🌿

You’re not behind.
You’re on the path.
And you’re doing just fine.

What have you done when you start riding the waves? What have you overcome? Let’s celebrate it together!
